No, participation is completely free. There is no charge to register, submit an entry, or take part at any stage of the programme.

Any choir, ensemble, instrumental group or solo artiste resident in Akwa Ibom State. The applicant must be 18 or older with a verified NIN; groups may include members under 18 under the conditions set out in the Rules & Eligibility page.

No. A group may submit only one entry for the 2026 edition.

You may appear in no more than two entries across the programme.

Members under 18 do not need a NIN, but a photograph is captured as identity evidence and parental or guardian consent is mandatory. Any group with a member under 18 must register two identity-verified adult group leads.

English and indigenous languages, including Ibibio, Annang, Oron and Efik.

3 to 6 minutes, recorded as one continuous live take, at least 720p resolution.

A short phrase issued to you on the Portal that you must speak on camera during your recording. It confirms the video was recorded specifically for this entry and helps prevent duplicate or recycled submissions.

No. Entries must be a single, unedited, continuous take with no cuts, filters or added effects. Basic camera framing and normal audio levelling for upload are fine; edited performances will be disqualified.

You may perform a cover, but miming to a commercial recording, or presenting previously published work as your own, is not permitted and will lead to disqualification. See the Content Licence page for how the State may use your performance.

Ministry Desk Officers review every entry for eligibility, completeness and authenticity during the desk review period. You may be contacted to correct an entry or provide a short live verification clip before it proceeds to adjudication.

Log in to the Portal and check your notifications for the reason given, then resubmit the required document or photograph. If you need help, contact the Support Desk (see Contact & Support).

Yes. Closing the entry window only stops new submissions — your account stays open. You can log in at any time to track the status of an entry you already submitted, and you will be notified there if you are shortlisted.

No. There is no public voting or leaderboard. Selection is entirely by expert adjudication against the published rubric.

Your data is handled in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Photographs of minors are used only for identity evidence and duplicate detection and are never published. See the full Privacy Notice for details.

Miming to a commercial recording, AI-generated or synthetically altered performances, previously published work by another party, and edited or multi-take videos are all grounds for disqualification.
