Acceptance
By registering for the Akwa Ibom State Christmas Choral Night 2026 ("the Programme"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions, the Rules & Eligibility, the Content Licence and the Privacy Notice. If you are registering on behalf of a group, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for every member of that group and that you have told them what these terms say.
Eligibility
Eligibility is set out in full on the Rules & Eligibility page and forms part of these terms. In summary: the applicant must be 18 or older with a verified National Identification Number; every adult member must be identity-verified; groups including anyone under 18 must register two verified adult leads and hold parental or guardian consent for each minor.
Participation is free. No fee of any kind is charged for registration, submission, verification, adjudication or performance.
Entries
An entry consists of a completed Portal profile, an enrolled group roster where applicable, and one video recording meeting the requirements in the Rules.
An individual may appear in no more than two entries. A group may submit one entry. Entries not submitted by the published closing date and time remain in draft and are not considered.
Conduct
Entrants are expected to conduct themselves with the courtesy and good will the Programme's own theme calls for. Abuse of Programme staff, adjudicators or other entrants, attempts to influence adjudication, and misrepresentation of identity or eligibility may result in disqualification.
Verification and integrity
Every entry is checked by Ministry Desk Officers for eligibility, completeness and authenticity. You may be asked to correct an entry, provide additional evidence, or record a short live verification clip.
The Programme reserves the right to disqualify any entry found to involve miming to a commercial recording, AI-generated or synthetically altered performance, previously published work by another party, or edited or multi-take video.
Selection and decisions
Approved entries are scored by expert adjudicators against the published rubric. Shortlisted finalists are notified by email, SMS and in their Portal dashboard, and must confirm their place within 72 hours of notification. A place not confirmed within that window may be offered to the next-ranked entry.
There is no public voting and no public leaderboard. Selection is on merit alone.
Appeals
An entrant may appeal a decision on the grounds of procedural error or factual mistake. An appeal must be raised through the Portal within a defined window of the decision being communicated, stating the grounds clearly. Prizes
The prize purse, its division among the three winning entries and the accompanying non-cash recognition are as published on the Programme website, and are subject to final confirmation by the Programme Secretariat.
Prizes are paid to the registered applicant of the winning entry. Where a group wins, the Programme pays the registered applicant and does not arbitrate the division of a prize within a group. Licence to use content
Your rights in your own performance, and the licence you grant to the State in order for the Programme to run and be promoted, are set out on the Content Licence page, which forms part of these terms.
Data protection
How your personal data is collected, used, shared, stored and deleted is set out in the Privacy Notice, issued under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, which forms part of these terms.
Changes to the programme
The Programme may amend dates, categories, procedures or these terms where there is good operational reason to do so. Material changes will be published on this website and, where they affect entrants directly, communicated by email and SMS.
The Programme may be postponed or cancelled in circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the organisers. [Force majeure wording — TBC by Ministry legal team.]
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Akwa Ibom State have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
